Adult Social Care Strategy Public Consultation

Overview

The Council launched its current vision and strategy for Adult Social Care in 2024.  The strategy runs until 2027. We are now looking to find out what is important for residents so that we can shape our vision, strategy and priorities for the next 3 – 5 years in Rotherham. To help us do this we want to hear from you about what is important and the areas we should focus on. You can access the current strategy.

We would like to hear your views on a range of topics and invite you to take part by completing our online survey. If you need a paper copy or the survey in an alternative format, such as easy read, large print or another language, please contact us using the details in the sidebar.

We are committed to engaging with as many people as possible across Rotherham and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to contribute to this consultation. Following this consultation, your responses will shape the new strategy, which will go to Cabinet for approval in March 2027. We are intending to launch the new strategy in April 2027.

For information, Cabinet is a group of councillors and the Leader who collectively decide about what the Council does. Cabinet recommends the budget and key policy proposals for agreement. It also develops and implements most Council policies.

Why your views matter

We want this strategy to be shaped by the people who draw on Adult Social Care services, their families, unpaid carers and partners, including the voluntary, community and faith sectors. To support this, we led a series of community engagement events before launching this consultation, giving people from across Rotherham the opportunity to share their experiences, tell us what is working well and identify where improvements may be needed. These conversations included a wide range of voices and perspectives, helping us to understand what matters most to local people. The feedback we received has directly informed the development of this consultation and the key themes on which we are seeking further views.
