A633 Broad Street proposed improvements
Overview

Improvements are proposed for the A633 on Broad Street, on the approach to Parkgate Roundabout, Rawmarsh. They intend to improve bus journey times, help people to cross the road and enhance the highways environment for all users.
The Council proposes to introduce:
• A 100m bus lane on the southbound approach to Parkgate Roundabout
• A signalised pedestrian crossing, in place of the existing central island, outside Aldi
• Carriageway widening to accommodate the extra lane
• Enforcement cameras at the entrance of Aldi and the exit from Asda, to prevent restricted manoeuvres on to and off Broad Street
• Improved signage
• More conveniently located bus stops on both carriageways
In addition, the two lanes leaving the roundabout will merge into a single lane sooner on Broad Street
