Our Places Fund Phase 2 Consultation - Swallownest and Rawmarsh/Parkgate

Overview

In 2024 the Council reaffirmed its dedication to keep every neighbourhood thriving by approving a major investment in local areas called the Our Places Fund. The Council has already committed to new developments in Maltby and Swinton, and work is underway to enhance Cenotaphs across the borough. 

Borough-wide consultation identified key priorities for improvement. This included enhancing the surroundings of cenotaphs and memorials and upgrading public spaces to make them more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Shaped by local community feedback gathered in early 2026, plans have been developed to transform:

• The public spaces on High Street in Rawmarsh and in Parkgate
• The underused green space on Gray Avenue (off Mason Avenue) in Swallownest

The proposed improvements will help create more inviting and attractive spaces for everyone.
